The Georgian Flag was designed on March 25, 1917.

 

Due to the collapse of the Tsarist rule, the first Republic of Georgia was established on May 26, 1918.

 

The Georgian language is spoken by around 3.8 million people. The alphabet has been used since 7 B.C. and consists of 33 letters.  The modern Georgian alphabet is known as mkhedruli. Every letter is circular and written between two parallel lines. That’s why it’s called Mrgvlovani. The letters are angular and are written in four lines. Mkhedruli inherited Nuskhuri’s distribution of letters across four lines and Mrgvlovani’s round arrangement. The Georgian alphabet is unique because it is utilized exclusively to write the Georgian language, which means it has a unique set of letters that are not shared with other languages, and it is a wholly original writing system that is not derived from any other widely used alphabet in the world.
